After all - you’ve worked too hard this month to come up short and feel frantic as the month comes to an end!

Luckily, there are easy ways to boost revenue and get your business organized – and we’re going to show you how to do it in just a few short weeks.

As an entrepreneur myself, I can tell you with confidence that these are tried and true strategies that help me to grow and scale my own business, month over month!

Ten Quick Ways to Increase Sales & Get Organized Before the End of the Month

 

1. Take time to Code + Categorize Your Expenses

Tracking my expenses is not something that I enjoy, but it's important for knowing where the money in business comes from.

 

In order to keep track of where I'm spending and how I can cut unnecessary costs and maximize profit, I use a free platform called Mint.com to categorize all Credit and Debit Expenses for both my Personal Bank Accounts and my Business Accounts.

** Visionary Tip: Separate your personal and business finances as soon as possible if you’re starting a business!

By doing this each month that means that when tax season arrives, I can clearly see my Profit & Loss and where the money leaks are.

What I owe in taxes is also clear as day thanks to monthly tracking as well as understanding where there are deductions available--like office expenses or business growth tools.

2. Take Time on the 1st of each month to Track Your Metrics for the previous month

If you've worked through our online course called Visionary Social Media, then you know one of the most important pillars of your business is not just in content creation, but in measuring your growth and tracking your metrics.

 

I use a simple Google Sheet to track things like…

  • Monthly revenue

  • # Dream Clients

  • Discovery calls booked

  • Social media performance

  • Email Marketing Growth (subscribers, open rate %, etc.)

If something is measurable, you better believe that I love to track it.

Do you have a reporting or tracking system set up?

This is something I teach my clients about, in depth inside of The Visionary Method.

 

3. Set Targets & Goals For Next Month

Whether your ambitions for next month are small or big, it’s important to have a solid vision for where you're headed once you wrap up this month.

After all, if you don’t know where you’re going… how can you plan the best route?

I like to grab my trusty business-brainstorm-notebook and jot down some small goals for the first week of the month, as well as bigger goals that I know will take me multiple weeks!

A few other goal setting strategies that I have include…

  • Simplifying my goal setting by breaking them into buckets like Money, Content Creation, # New Clients, Days Off (yes, I goal set around this!), # podcast downloads, etc.

  • Get super messy! I scribble out as much as I can as to what the idea is, why I want to bring this goal to life, who can help me, and how I can begin taking action on it.

  • Declaring them publicly either inside of our Visionary Method Mastermind OR to a friend or family member

Just remember, goal are the easy part!

Taking action is the hard part…

 

4. Write down 5 things that you're looking forward to this month

The immense joy I have for growing my business is what gives me the energy to show up and perform at a high level, each and everyday.

As the C.V.O. of the Visionary, Inc. Brand I know that I operate at my highest potential when I have joyful experiences to look forward to each week, so I ensure that my month is sprinkled with these types of events.

Sometimes they are work-related like Hosting a New Webinar, Connecting with my Clients, Throwing a Holiday Party for The Visionary Method Community, etc.

Other times they are personal joyful experience (that end up impacting my business because I feel more energized) such as Going Our For Lunch with a Friend, Taking an Extra Long Walk with my Dog While Listening to Podcasts, or spending time in the kitchen baking cookies or muffins.

 

5. Write out anything that feels heavy next month

Just as it's important to recognize what will bring you joy next month, it's also important to scan through your calendar for the upcoming 30 days and to scrub the commitments that are not going to bring you joy.

Once I am clear on my goals, I simply scan the month ahead and try to eliminate anything that is clearly going to pull me away from achieving my goals.

I call this “Failure-Mitigation”.

Things like…

  • too many social engagements,

  • meetings that can be taken care of in a simple email,

  • or tasks that I can pass off to my team are usually the things I eliminate.

 

 6.   If you want to boost your revenue ASAP, be sure to prioritize Follow Ups

If you want to close the month with increased revenue, this is the time to focus on your follow-ups.

After all, they do say that the Fortune Is In The Follow-Up and I believe that 100%.

If you've been communicating with a potential client, or are on the verge of securing a new consulting project… it's time to make one final follow up this month!

Send out a personalized email or record a voice note for your potential customer, and just let them know that you’re thinking of them and have a fun little promo happening. People love an incentive, so don’t be afraid to give them one if it helps to secure the deal.

7. Keep Your Evening Open

At the end of the month, I keep social plans and events to a minimum.

I like to think of the final few days of the month (as well as the first couple days of the month) as sacred time where I am closing one chapter and entering the next.

I always take time to reflect on what went well the past month while it’s fresh in my mind, and that can’t happen if I’m out at too many parties or networking events.

I'll still schedule my daily Visionary Routines & Rituals like stopping to make a healthy dinner or getting a 30 Minute Heavy Bag Workout in— but beyond that I make myself available in case there is anything I need to focus on.

8.    Planning Next Months Social Media

Planning ahead is something that I have failed to do many months in my business, but I recognize now that it saves me so much time in the long run.

Today, I always try to devote at least 4 hours at the end of the month to plan out my Social Media and Email Marketing Content for the following month.

When you plan your month upcoming you’ll also be able to forecast any upcoming holidays, promotions, themes, world events, milestones, or relevant content that you can focus on.

9.    Celebrating Milestones of the Month

If you've ever listened to the Visionary Life Podcast, you know that one of my favourite questions to ask an entrepreneur is whether or not they take time to celebrate the milestones achieved in their business.

Oftentimes, the answer is No.

10.  Simplify, Eliminate, Automate or Delegate.

I’m going to guess that you spent time on tasks last month that you shouldn’t have been doing.

AKA - they are $5.00 / hr tasks that you could easily delegate to somebody else so that your precious time and energy are freed up!
