Why Hosting an IRL (In Real Life) Event is a Game-Changer for Your Marketing Funnel

Frustrated with the algorithms? Want more leads, but can’t figure out ‘what to post’ to attract attention?

In this blog, I’m sharing an alternative strategy that doesn’t involve Social Media Marketing or Online Funnels.

Read on to find out what it is!

I’ve been hosting in-person meetups and events at least once or twice a year for the past eight years of running my business.

I consider it an essential part of my Marketing Funnel, one where I get out from behind my laptop and into the real world.

Although I don't always see an immediate return on investment like I do with other ‘fast-lane’ marketing strategies, there are numerous other benefits to being a curator of events. Including;

  • Social media shares

  • Photos and video footage captured

  • Brings your brand to life

  • Keeps you relevant

  • Positions you as an expert and curator

In this blog, I’ll tell you exactly why I believe that organizing events is an important part of any business owners marketing strategy.

In this blog post, we will cover a few key reasons that you should consider hosting an event...

  1. Stand Out as an Expert, a Giver and a Connector

  2. Build Stronger Connections

  3. Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

  4. Foster a TRUE Community

  5. Create high impact conversations

Here’s why you might want to consider adding an IRL event to your marketing strategy:

  1. Stand Out as an Expert, a Giver and a Connector

Most of your peers aren't willing to host these events. By stepping up, you position yourself as the go-to expert in your field and within your community. Also, 'life gives to the giver' (one of my favourite quotes) and I've seen this play out time and time again.

2. Build Stronger Connections

Meeting people in person makes a lasting impression. The energy and emotion you exchange face-to-face is far more impactful than what can be achieved through screens or social media (I know it's not what you want to hear, but it's true).

This helps you build the "know, like, and trust" factor with people more quickly, and shorten the sales cycle.

3. Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

For many online entrepreneurs, it's uncomfortable to step out from behind the screen and engage with the real world. I get it, because I feel the same way!

However, if you can't sell to your local market, how do you expect to sell globally? Mastering local sales is a crucial first step to validating your idea, and making an impact within 100 mile radius around you.

4. Foster a TRUE Community

Community isn't optional; it's essential.

Unfortunately, many entrepreneurs neglect this aspect. Building a community means SUCCESS on so many levels.

Some of which include impact, future clients, lifelong peers, and unexpected strategic partners... all of which are invaluable for your business! Word travels fast, and a strong community can amplify your reach like nothing else.

5. Create High-Impact Conversations

When visionaries gather in person, they can tackle complex challenges and brainstorm the next million-dollar business ideas. 1+1 does not = 2, it's un-quantifiable!

These kinds of high-impact conversations are hard to replicate online. No matter how good you are at creating digital experiences.

In an era where it's increasingly difficult to trust people on the internet, getting back to in-person interactions can significantly benefit your business.

Most people reading this will hear what I'm saying, but forget to put this in practice. But for the 10% of you who are really reading... get ready for major momentum ;)
