Do you have big dreams of growing your business in 2024, but perhaps you don't have a ton of extra cash to invest in marketing or paid advertising?

As a newer business owner, your budget might be limited. And that’s totally ok!

There are plenty of great marketing strategies that don't cost you a dime and they are low risk to test out, too.

In this blog, I’m going to share 5 strategies you can start implementing TODAY to build your business, generate more brand awareness, bring more leads into your funnel, and

 

Strategy #1 - Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Free, just requires your time!

 

Creating SEO Optimized Content is FREE once you have a website set up, so why not test it out!

 

SEO involves blogging and creating keyword friendly content, that helps search engines like Google to find your website and send searchers to read your content. 

 

Aside from your time and doing some initial keyword research, SEO doesn't cost you a penny. SEO is different from SEM or Search Engine Marketing which does involve spending money to have your ads shown to searchers. SEM is wonderful, but if you’re looking for a zero cost marketing strategy then SEO is the way to go!

 

By using the right tools and strategies, you can increase your website traffic quickly and effectively - and generate new leads for your business!

Strategy #2 - Social Media Marketing: Free (just involves time and creativity).

 

Try this: Show up on stories and show the behind-the-scenes stuff of your business and of your products, because it builds likeability and trust with your followers.

 

Your followers want to feel connected to you, and that is made easier when you showcase more 'behind the scenes' of your life and work.

 

And platforms like Instagram Stories are the perfect place to go beyond your content expertise, and to show the world who you really are!

 

It might feel slightly uncomfortable at first to document more of your life on IG Stories, but I promise you that the more you do it, the easier it will become. Plus, you really only need to film 1 or 2 minutes per day, to share a good amount of content.

Strategy #3 - In Person Workshops & Community Events: Free or Low Cost (but can charge attendees to attend).

 

One of the simplest ways to get visible and establish trust with your audience is to teach a free or paid workshop that demonstrates your expertise, gathers your community and shares valuable tips and tricks with your warm audience! 

 

Ex:

 

If you're a Pilates Teacher, you might want to teach an Intro to Pilates Class for newbies to encourage new folks in your community to come try it out!



OR



If you’re a Digestive Health Expert, you might want to teach a virtual webinar on “The Top 7 Foods That Cause Gas & Bloating In Women”




OR



If you’re a Life Coach, you might co-facilitate a fun ‘Vision Boarding & Goal Setting Workshop’ in the new year for all paying members of a local coworking space.

 

Workshops, community events, and online gatherings are a great way to build trust with your community and to bring them further into your Sales and Marketing Funnel!

Strategy #4 - Strategic Partnerships, Relationship Building, Networking: Free, just involves your time and willingness to meet people and think creatively about collaborations.

Prioritize at least 10% of your working hours for showing up at events, masterminds, trade shows, networking events and community groups - because your next few clients will be acquired there!

Things like recording or appearing on Podcasts, filming YouTube Videos & exploring Other Long-From Content can be created for free, and help you educate your dream clients.

In 2022, the US population spent an average of 439 minutes (seven hours and 19 minutes) per day consuming digital media. That's a HUGE opportunity for digital creators, like you!

 

Plus, look at your own habits, how much time do you spend consuming Podcasts, Videos, Emails and Blogs? Likely, a lot of time!

 

Not only will long-from content help you gain more authority in your field but it also gives you a chance to get to know your style of teachings.

 

In conclusion,

SEO, social media marketing, in-person workshops, creating long form content, and building relationships are Marketing Strategies that cost very little money, and that are wildly effective.
