The Ultimate Guide to Webinar Creation (slide-by-slide template that you can steal!)

•••

I remember attending one of my first free Online Webinars back in 2013 when they were still a fairly new and innovative online marketing strategy.

There were very few online business owners leveraging them as a 'list building strategy' at the time, and I remember tuning into the massive potential of teaching this type of digital workshop.

My interest was certainly piqued as to how I could incorporate webinars & digital trainings into my own Marketing Funnel, as a coach that connected with clients both in person and online!

For context, back in 2013 I was running an Online Holistic Nutrition Practice (I graduated from The Canadian School of Natural Nutrition!) at the time and in preparing for a 30 Day Detox Program that I was launching. I couldn't help but think that teaching a webinar would be an amazing conversion strategy (and it was!)

So, I studied what others were doing on their webinars and started to take notes!

I paid attention to things like:

  • How long their presentations were

  • What their opening slides were

  • How much interaction they had

  • What their slides looked like (branding)

  • The way they positioned themselves as an expert

  • How they immediately made you feel like you were in the right place

  • The way they structured to body / content of the webinar

  • How they smoothly transitioned into selling at the end of their presentation

  • How they used time-sensitive bonuses and offers to encourage the decision

I learned a lot by watching everyone else host these webinars, but honestly I learned even more about how to host an engaging webinar by hosting my own.

The best learning is through experience!

Now, it's been over 10 years of testing various formats of webinars and masterclasses - and I have landed on a format that will knock your attendees socks off (& get them to open their wallets!)

And today, I'm sharing it all - free!

Here is my exact slide by slide template for how to structure your webinar. Just add your own anecdotes, branding and personality.

Som, if you are tired of giving lackluster presentations that result in low engagement and minimal success converting clients - you’re in the right place!

Follow this slide template closely, or go rogue and use it to inspire you but do your own magic as you create the content!

  • Establish Authority / Expertise

    • Share why you’re the right person to trust on this topic

    • Photo of you

    • Give them some compelling reasons to stay until the end (share a teaser of the info to come!)

Slide #5

  • Reassure them that they’re in the right place

    • "‘I have a feeling you showed up to watch this webinar because….

      • List 5 reasons that reaffirm why they came (ex: You’ve been struggling with your weight ever since you hit perimenopause, you feel like your energy has disappeared over the past few years even though you haven’t changed your diet, sleep or exercise, etc.)

Slide #5

  • Reassure them that you get it, and that you have answers

    • ‘I’m glad you came because my mission is to solve all the problems from Slide 5’

Slide #6

  • Audience Engagement

    • Can I ask you a question?

    • If nothing changes in the next 5 years, will you still be happy?

    • What if 10 years from now, you’re on the same path?

    • Goal is to paint a picture that ‘winter is coming’ and to show them why it’s not good to stay stuck in this pattern

Slide #7

  • Address their fears, doubts, and limiting beliefs when it comes to making these changes

    • At this point, they know they want to change

    • BUT, the voice in their head is already creeping in and telling them it’s too hard to make a change

    • Help them realize they are NOT too late

Slide #8

    • Especially with YOUR expertise, experience and knowledge

    • Showcase why you’re trustworthy

Slide #9

    • But, you have a compelling story - so now is the time to share it!

*Good stories typically have the following 6 identifiable features (from the book Sell with a Story by Paul Smith). In this sample Visionary Seed Story , we will use the example of Starting an Instagram Growth Agency.

Are you looking for further motivation to get your Webinar scheduled?

A) Decide on your Webinar Topic (don't think, just blurt out the first thing on your mind!)

  • What do you know lots about that most people don't?

  • What is it that you love talking about, that could be distilled into a ~60 min workshop?

  • What would you feel comfortable speaking about, because of your direct life experience?

  • What topic would get people interested in your offer?

B) Choose your date and time (Weekday Evenings Work Great!)

  • Next, choose a dream date for this webinar! Even if you have no idea where to host it, I want you to select a day that would make sense to host it.

  • Make sure to think about who might attend & what time slots work for them (ex. If it's a Nutrition Workshop for CEO's, then don't make it at 9am on a Monday when they're busy at work)

C) Who will you invite?

Some ideas for where to find groups of people to invite:

  • People in your phone

  • Personal email database

  • Business email database

  • Personal Instagram

  • LinkedIn

  • Your Part Time / FT Job

  • TikTok

  • Facebook / Instagram

  • Clubs You’re Part Of

  • Posters @ Community Centers and Coffee Shops

  • Co-Marketing / Asking Others To Help Promote

Send me a message on Instagram when you declare your goal, so that I can cheer you on!

And remember, even though I've been in the webinar game for years I still get a little nervous and am uncertain when I put myself out there.

I truly do know firsthand the struggles of getting visible, sharing your heart online, and pouring SO much effort into a webinar that captures your audience's attention and actually converts them into loyal customers.

My hope is that by sharing my proven webinar template - you can go on to generate thousands of dollars in sales. Good luck, visionary
