How to Set (& Achieve) Your Business Growth Goals | The Visionary Method

The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.

Whether you are at the beginning of your business journey or scaling your business to the next level, setting business goals is an important ritual. 

Afterall, setting just one small goal can change your business forever!

This sounds simple but honestly a lot of business owners fail to decide on exactly what direction they’re going (the BIG vision) and therefore have no clear path that will lead them there. 

This blog is going to ensure that this is not you!

Take a moment right there and close your eyes

(inhale then exhale😮‍💨)

I want you to imagine what your business is going to look like in 1 years time. 

Now, write down everything that comes to mind when you visualize your business 12 months from now! 

  • How much money are you making?

  • What have you created and what products or services exist?

  • Who are you working with (describe your dream client)

  • Where are you working (ex: in a hammock)

  • What feelings do you have towards your business (ex: excited, joyful)

From here, I want you to select the top 3 goals that you want to achieve in the next 90 days and the top 3 goals you want to accomplish in the next 1 year. 

Take a piece of paper and draw out the diagrams below! This is where you will write out 3 actionable tasks for each of the goals you want to target.

When you're setting goals, it's important to visualize what you want. See yourself achieving your goals, and feel what it will be like to reach them. 

This will help you stay motivated and focused on what you need to do to make your goals a reality.

Choose 3 more questions to answer, in order to visualize your life and your business 12 months from now…

  • What is one thing that you’ll no longer be doing in 12 months?

  • When you ask someone else to describe your business, what will they say?

  • What will you have figured out & mastered by then, that you don’t already know?

  • How do people find you & work with you? 

  • How are you promoting & marketing your business?

Attaining the business goals you set for yourself isn’t always easy. It takes a lot of self-discipline, hard-work and consistency!

Let’s take the time to reflect on the following questions, so that we ensure there’s a compelling reason why you are pushing for your goals.

  • How important is it for you to achieve your goals?

  • Why is it important? 

  • What will the achievement of this goal bring more of to your life?

  • Do the daily decisions that you’ve been making lately point towards your goal or away from it? Ask yourself?

    • How are you spending your free time and with whom?

    • Do you share openly & vulnerably with others about your goals?

    • Have you asked for help yet?

    • Are you focused, clear and relentless in the pursuit of this goal?

If you want your business to grow, it’s important to set goals and achieve them. This may seem like an obvious statement, but many business owners never take the time to sit down and establish specific goals for their company.

Without defined objectives, it can be difficult – or impossible – to measure success. 

That’s why I encourage all of our Visionary Method Members to set business goals and track progress along the way. It may take a little effort in the beginning, but it will be worth it when you see your business thrive!
