Businesses don't succeed by accident - it takes careful planning, hard work, and sometimes rebuilding a solid foundation even after you’ve launched.

If you feel like your business is built on a rocky foundation, there are some essential strategies that all businesses should implement in order to set themselves up for future success.

When you solidify these 4 foundational pillars, you can avoid slow and inconsistent growth, and feel confident that you have the frameworks in place for growth.

So what are these 4 foundational pillars?

  • Know your VDC’s (aka your Visionary Dream Clients)

  • Discover and double down on your “Unique Brilliance”.

  • Be confident in “your method” or your “proven process” so that you are confident that you provide a Remarkable Service

  • Reduce all friction

Let me share the quick overview of each of these

The first foundational pillar is a solid business plan with a very clear definition of your Visionary Dream Client.

This document should lay out exactly who your customer is and what their biggest pain points and/or challenges are. Without a detailed understanding of who your Visionary Dream Client is, it will be difficult to make informed decisions about where to focus your Marketing Efforts!

The second foundational element is your Unique Brilliance (aka your UB).

This is the ‘the thing’ that sets your business apart from every other in your industry that offers a similar service. Without a Unique Brilliance, you’re swimming in the same pond as everyone else.

The third foundational pillar is a remarkable product and proven methodology - one that transforms the lives of your clients and customers.

Your customers are the lifeblood of your business, so it's important to deliver an unparalleled experience to them so that your name is referred to their network.

The fourth and final foundational pillar is a friction-less funnel.

From the moment a customer enters into your world (perhaps through a free webinar or masterclass) to the point where they hand over their credit card and start working with you - the experience should be flawless and friction-less!

Before we go deeper on each of these, I just want to share something super quick with you…

If you are frustrated with the slow and inconsistent growth of your online business, then I want to steer you to www.kelseyreidl.com/marketing to learn more about how a Marketing Coach can support you.

If you could use support and are ready to stop leaving your marketing to “chance” then you may benefit from this 4 month experience

1. Your Visionary Dream Clients (aka Your VDC’s)

Let's talk first about your visionary dream clients.

As many of you know, if you are speaking to everyone you are actually speaking to nobody

For example - you do not want to jump on Instagram Stories and lead with “hey everyone….”. You’re NOT talking to everyone!

Starting emails and social media posts with sentences like “Hey, Everyone!” does not captivate anyone's attention! It’s a missed opportunity.

Everyone is not a person.

When you think about mastering the foundation of your marketing strategy, one of the first things you need to think about is scripting out who your visionary dream clients are, so that you can speak directly to them.

You should know things like…

  • Where they live,

  • What they struggle with,

  • What their dream come true outcome would be if they worked with you,

  • What kind of books they read & TV Shows they watch,

  • Where they spend their time online,

  • What they are searching on Google,

  • What are they typing into Pinterest,

  • What organizations are they part of,

  • Who do they follow on social media,

  • What do they do on weekends and on weekdays?

The more you know about your Visionary Dream Clients, the easier it is to talk to them.

Can you imagine if you are a really busy mom with 4 kids, and when you rush home from work and look into the fridge you realize “holy shit, there is no food in the fridge”. All the kids are screaming. They're hangry. They want a snack. They want dinner. Needless to stay, you're feeling the stress.

You decide to take a :30 second break and you mindlessly go and pull up your Facebook. You’re met with a post that is headlined with “wouldn't it be nice if you came home from work, and all of the dinner for your family was prepped!?”

Uhhhh yes please! Can you imagine how intrigued that mom would be?

This is why we need to know exactly where our dream clients are and what their lifestyle is like, at all times.

2. Unique Brilliance

The second thing that I want to talk with you about is uncovering your business's Unique Brilliance.

Some people call it your specialty, your value proposition, your unique selling point—but in the visionary world we call it your unique brilliance.

Ask yourself - When you look at 3 other practitioners in your industry, what sets you guys apart? Is there an obvious reason as to why your clients should choose you instead of your competition?

For example, is your price better? Is your price more premium? Are you more fun and approachable? Is your location more accessible than everybody else's? Do you offer product benefits that nobody else does, like a money back guarantee? Do you only take clients by referral? Do you invest all the money from your clients into getting clean, drinking water for people around the world?

What makes your business stand out from the rest? Take time to script out at least 2 compelling features.

3. Your “Method”

The signature method or journey that you take your clients through is something that too many people avoid and ignore.

Especially for service providers, who are often forced to nuance their approach based on each client.

Unfortunely, selling ‘a custom approach’ doesn’t always work. Your clients want to see the map and feel confident that you have a journey that awaits them.

This is where your Method comes in (something I teach you inside of The Visionary Method!)

The goal of having your proven process scripted out is that you can show what you do, not just tell what you do. Put your process into a visual, a trajectory, a timeline or a step-by-step list so that it’s easy for clients to understand.

For example, when somebody joins The Visionary Method they start with The (Re)Vision Session which is their onboarding call, then we go to The Brilliance Finder which is doing their strengths and uncovering what their differentiating factors are, then we go to The C.V.O. Creator which is all about developing those basic business skills that will allow you to be a leader, etc.

I hired a designer from 99designs to help me bring my visual to life!

4. Make the whole experience friction-less!

It's great to be able to promote your offer and say “buy, buy, buy” but without a guarantee or an easy way for somebody to say yes, you’re leaving money on the table.

Making your “opt-in” friction-less is going to help you create a lot more lead generation and more clients will raise their hand to work with you.

Can you offer your audience a free trial of your service? Is there a money back guarantee? If they find a lower price somewhere else can they get a refund from you? If your Method doesn’t work can they re-do the program?

How are you making it so simple for clients to get into a working relationship with you?

There you have it.

Do you have all four pillars in place, so that you can accelerate your success?
