Need More Clarity & Direction When You Sit Down to Build Your Business? Try these 3 simple things.

When you sit down to work on your business, do you know what to work on?

We’ve all been.

Getting fired up,

Feeling motivated,

Equipped with The BEST intentions to crush some serious work on building our businesses, baby!

To set the mood,

  • You brew a strong cuppa coffee,

  • You turn your phone on airplane model,

  • And then you open your laptop.

It’s time to build an empire!

But, then a rush of overwhelm hits you.

You feel lost,

A little paralyzed,

And downright confused at where to even begin.

So much for HASHTAG crushing it, today.

There are SO many things to tackle right now, but what’s most important in this moment? Where should you start?!

Who knows!

Now, before you give up and go snuggle your dog for the next 4 hours (although that’s a great option too),  let’s talk about some things that you CAN do when you feel paralyzed upon starting your work day.

To get more clarity, take a step in the direction of the destination.

Three Tips for Finding Clarity & Direction When You Sit Down to Build Your Business

#1 Put pen to paper & brain dump

It sounds old-school,

But a fresh Bic Brand Pen and a super cute notebook go a LONG way when it comes to finding clarity.

I love to open a  fresh page (usually the right side of a notebook) and begin writing out anything and everything that’s on my mind.

From there, I will write little numbers beside some of the important tasks

Ex. 30

These are NOT numbers of priority, but instead they are the time block that I estimate I will need to complete the task.

Once everything is on paper, and I see some important tasks with a time block beside them… I’ll look at how much time is in my day and then schedule in enough tasks to fit what time I have available!

It works like a charm,

#2 Rewrite your goals

Do you think you’re confused when you sit down to work, because you have NO idea where you’re headed?

It’s quite possible!

Basic goal setting should NOT be overlooked.

If you know where you’re going, the path is obvious!

If you don’t, good luck finding it (*rolls eyes*)

Turn over to ANOTHER fresh sheet of paper, and write the numbers 1 to 3.

Write out your BIG 3 goals.

Now, divide each goal into 3 smaller steps that you can take action on.

Then, highlight one of those small steps to get started on right away!

In the coming 8 work days you’ve planned, work on the rest.

#3 Schedule a power hour

Get more out of your days with the most simple & effective visionary time planning tip!

Try this exercise for 7 days in a row and experience the benefits that a time limit can bring to your productivity.

Grab a scrap piece of paper each morning and write out 1-HOUR BLOCKS for the hours of the day that you have control of (i.e. if you're at your 9-5 job each day, just write 6-7am, 6-7pm, 8-9pm, etc.)

Now, write which tasks will be scheduled into each hour!

The reality is, there WILL be days when you just can’t seem to find focus and direction. That’s ok!

As business owners, we have to give ourselves grace in these times.

Just as most employees aren’t doing highly focused and productive work 44 hours per week in the office, you won’t be focused and productive 44 hours per week either.

However, if you are still feeling a lack of direction and a total confusion towards what you’re creating, and how to get to your end goal… perhaps it’s time to hire a coach.

At one point, I was exactly where you are now: confused...yet committed to making my business work!

  • I know what it's like to have *zero* idea how to scale your idea into a profitable business.

  • I know what it's like to watch others create & grow their business, while you feel stumped on what your next step should be

  • I know what it's like to want help, support and guidance from someone... but you're not sure who to turn to (hint: I can be that person!)

I also know what it's like to have a burning desire to do whatever it takes to make it work-- and so that's why I hired my own business coach when I was ready for my next level growth (& will continue to do so, forever).

What helped me surpass my business blocks & transcend my own limiting beliefs?
