I’m so glad you arrived at this blog post!

This is the resource I wish someone had given me 10 years ago when I began my journey of continual improvement and learning to live my most visionary life.

My suggestion for navigating this guidebook is to simply pick 3 or 4 of the 101 resources each week that you want to begin incorporating more of into your life. Once you’ve mastered a few, you can move onto the next set!

Listen to Podcasts

Visionary Advice: Fill your mind with incredible audio content whenever you have a chance! The audio content that I’ve been consuming over the past 5 years has transformed my life in numerous ways. I’ve been able to make more informed health decisions, learn about spirituality, refine my social media + marketing skills, create a network of mentors and SO MUCH MORE!

Switch Up Your Work Environment

Visionary Advice: I love to change my work environment multiple times per year. Whether that means quitting a job in favour of taking a new one, locating a new coworking space, or re-arranging my usual timelines - this is essential for continued creativity and inspiration!

  1. Join a co-working space: there are so many shared workspaces to network, have an office away from home, and to immerse yourself amongst inspiring humans. Some of my favourites include: Love Child Social in Toronto, League in Toronto, WeWork (global), The Wing (global), The East Room (Toronto) and you can also see if your favourite restaurant offers co-working during the day using this app.

  2. Quit your day job: take this advice with a grain of salt, but if you’re truly unhappy in your current role there are SO many ways you can make a living something else (freelance on UpWork, start a business, do online consulting etc.)

  3. Create a Home Office Sanctuary: Create a bright and cheery workspace with intention cards, rock salt lamps, fun highlighters and cute notebooks, and a 5 minute journal for when you need to take a break.

  4. Make it pretty: print inspiring photos from WalMart or a local photo shop and buy a fun print with your logo or favourite quote on it - Etsy has some great prints!


Upgrade Your Morning Routine

Visionary Tip: As a nutritionist & health coach, I truly believe it is our birthright to feel amazing upon waking up (and all day) and to live with the highest level of health and vibrancy (especially in the mornings!), yet many of us do not experience this.  Let’s change that, shall we?

  1. Get up 30 minutes earlier: use this time for peace and quiet if that’s what you need, or to squeeze in a task that fills your cup up!

  2. Tongue Scrape: this is the very first thing I do each and every day using this tongue scraper

  3. Oil Pulling: swish swish with some coconut oil or sesame oil for 5 to 20 minutes (build up gradually, I know it’s hard!)

  4. Juice ½ lemon in warm water: excellent for cleansing the body and promoting good digestion and alkalinity in the body

  5. Brew a quality cup of coffee: some of my favourite beans are Kicking Horse and anything from my Local Roastery (so fresh!), but if you’re in a pinch for time these Starbucks Instant Blends are amazing!

  6. Move your body: I am most likely to get my workout done when I do it first thing in the morning! Whatever time you’re working with, try to move your body for 10-60 minutes to get the blood flowing. I love Aaptiv for a quick home-workout experience.   7. Jade roll your face: Keep your jade roller in the freezer and roll it 3x over each part of your face for a fresh dewy look and healthy skin. This is the Jade Roller I use and love.


Improve Your Sleep


Visionary Tip: If you can wake up each and every day feeling rested, you are so much more likely to have a happy and productive day - do you agree?

  1. Wake up before 6:30 to experience the magic or quiet mornings (this means you MUST be in bed by 10:30pm at the latest)

  2. Don’t hit snooze: put your phone in a nearby room so that you have to get out of bed to turn off your alarm off

  3. Wear a sleep mask like This Organic Cotton one to block out light

  4. Diffuse lavender essential oil before bed: you can shop oils here 

Support Local Business


Visionary Tip: One of the best things we can do for our economy and our communities is to support local businesses when time permits and location allows. Whether that’s supporting a small community gym rather than the big giants, or purchasing skin care from your local apothecary over the drug store: there are so many wonderful businesses to support in every city!

Eat Good Food

Visionary Tip: Our health is in large part dictated by the food we choose to nourish and fuel our bodies with. It doesn't take a nutritionist to know that you’ll feel much better after eating a quinoa salad vs. a cheeseburger and fries. These are my favourite tools for ensuring that we eat good food as much as possible in our home.

  1. That Clean Life: a really neat meal planning service for individuals or for businesses

  2. Oh She Glows: hands down my favourite cookbooks and blog for healthy, simple, plant-based recipes.

  3. Plant-Power Way by Rich Roll and Julie Piatt: another favourite for plant-based cooking that tastes incredible

  4. Mama Earth Organics or another CSA program: they deliver a box of local + organic produce 1x weekly and it’s a life-saver!

  5. TruLocal or another Local Meat Delivery Program: it’s the easiest way to ensure that your meat is free from nasty additives and preservatives

  6. Fresh Restaurants Cookbook: my favourite Toronto restaurant has a cookbook with all of their secret recipes!

  7. Invest in a Vitamix for blending all of the things - you’ll adore the power of this appliance

  8. Make a really good green smoothie each morning using this recipe: 1 cup nut milk, ½ frozen banana, ½ avocado, 2 ice cubes, 1 tbsp almond butter, 1 scoop plant-based vanilla protein powder

  9. Choose plant-based proteins: Vega + Garden of Life

  10. Heal with Bone Broth: here’s the recipe that I use

  11. Make your own Kombucha: here’s the video tutorial I follow

  12. Make your own high protein + highly nutrient dense breakfast using one of these fan favourite suggestions: Google a recipe for the following: Bulletproof Coffee, Vegan Bulletproof Coffee, Green Smoothie, Avocado + Egg Toast, Overnight Oats, Chia Pudding

Friends-With-Benefits

Visionary Tip: Start suggesting health + inspiring activities that you’d like to do with your friends! Your hangouts don’t always have to revolve around the same things you’ve always done. Time to switch it up!

  1. Join a gym or club to meet like-minded people

  2. Schedule a weekly run date with a friend

  3. Go on a girls weekend to a fun Motel or Hotel: one of my favourite weekend getaways is The June Motel in Prince Edward County (past Visionary Life podcast guest!)

  4. Sign up for a Food Tour with your friends as a fun weeknight or weekend adventure - just search Google for one in your city!

Vacation Regularly

Visionary Tip: My husband and I love to adventure travel and explore the unknown places on this beautiful Earth! If you’re like me, you’ll adore the following travel destinations and cultural experiences that I put the Visionary seal of approval on

  1. Guatemala: Lake Atitlan & Tikal & Antigua

  2. Nicaragua: Popoyo & Ometempe

  3. Switzerland: Saanenland for hiking and skiing

  4. France: Les 3 Vallees (largest ski resort in Europe!)

  9. Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest happens 1x yearly and is great for german culture and lots of beer and polka dancing


Use Social Media for Good

Visionary Tip: Social media is here to stay (as you may have noticed!) And though it has many pitfalls, there are also many perks to using Social Media in our lives. Here are a few of the ways I choose to use it positively.

  1. Meet friends through Instagram: Connect with like minded people by engaging with their content and watching for events that they post!

  2. Hire your next contractor or vendor based on their online portfolio: I love to browse hashtags in an industry I need help in (i.e. #torontophotographer) and then I contact and hire them through their profile

  3. Share positive quotes that might uplift someone’s day: follow the hashtag #happyquotes

  4. Unfollow people who trigger you or make you unhappy: and there’s no need to feel guilty for doing so!

Visionary Tip: The easiest way to get an education is to read books! Immerse yourself in some of the greatest minds on this planet by reading these books on inspired living, entrepreneurship and adventure.

Visionary Tip: Although I am a big believer in reducing the time we spend on your phones - there is no denying that apps can help to save you time and reduce stress when you find ones that fit your lifestyle!

  3. Strava for Exercise: track your runs and rides and share routes with your friends!

  4. Voxer for Voice Communication with Friends: voice notes tend to make life a little easier and voxer is a great app for freeing up your thumbs


Simplify Your Life and Business with these Tools

Visionary Tip: If you’ve got an idea swirling around in your head, get it onto paper and into action so that you can start building the business you’ve always dreamed of!

  3. Share your idea with 5 friends (when you do, it’s more likely to manifest)

Next Level Holistic Health

Visionary Tip: Take your health to the Next Level using these tips and daily rituals

  1. Dry brush your skin to keep it young, supple and wrinkle-free

  2. Choose green cleaning and ditch toxic chemical-filled ones (here’s my favourite all-purpose cleaner recipe)

  3. Diffuse essential oils to shift your mood

  4. Use a sauna regularly if you have access to one (many yoga or massage studios rent minutes)

  5. Purchase a rebounder to get your blood flowing and lymph moving

  6. Meditate, deep belly breathe or practice mindfulness regularly: use the Headspace App or simply use YouTube and find a guided meditation

  7. Take a 1x daily probiotic for excellent microbiome health
