My intentions when I wake up are always to have a productive, happy, and nourishing day.
In order to ensure that I start my day with a nutrient-packed breakfast, I often opt for a Green Smoothie Bowl. Essentially, it’s just a green smoothie recipe that I blend with less liquid, which makes it more of an ice cream texture and requires you to eat it with a spoon.
SO. GOOD. (especially on a hot Summer day!)
Smoothie bowls tend to work best when you’re able to use a high powered blender, like the Vitamix or Blendtec.
- 1 cup kale leaves
- ¾ cup almond milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- dash of cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2-3 ice cubes
- Toppings; shredded coconut, dry oats, cacao nibs
- Blend all ingredients together until desired consistency, starting with less liquid and adding in more as needed as to not make it too liquidy.
- Enjoy this breakfast in a pretty bowl, with a spoon. Toppings should be sprinkled on carefully so they look nice!
